Who is obito and tobi

What gave it away as Obito is the fact he was collecting the bodies for his plans, something Madara would never do. As Danzo and Kakashi showed, having a Sharingan didn't necessarily make someone an Uchiha. What helped solidify it is the fact that he knew fire techniques that only the Uchiha Clan knew--from the Uchiha Flame Formation to the Blast Wave Wild Dance, all of which were techniques used by Madara in the past.

What made it seem like Obito was his use of the Great Fireball Technique, an ability he was always proficient with as a young kid. When talking about oneself, people don't usually speak the way Tobi did toward Pain upon his reveal.

After he asked Pain to go after Naruto, he stated that soon his plans or Uchiha Madara's plans would come to fruition. Outside of Doctor Doom in marvel comics, that isn't how a normal person talks about themself, and it gave away that it was someone else beneath the mask. It made him come off like an underling, which Obito was in reality.

The way Obito continually kept trying to pit Naruto and Sasuke against each other felt like more than him ensuring they could never team up to defeat him. The way he kept trying to fuel Sasuke's hatred made it seem like he wanted Sasuke to feel just as he had when he saw Kakashi kill Rin.

He wanted Sasuke as miserable as he was, and the only way to do that was to have him eliminate his best friend. It was petty and something only Obito would try to do. Kabuto cannot escape the jutsu until he chooses the path of reformation. Itachi also manages to get Kabuto to release the reanimation jutsu. One of the most humanizing aspects of Jiraiya, though, is his pure, unending love for Tsunade Senju.

She was both his teammate and friend since an early age, and thus his relationship with her is one of complete respect and sincerity. Tsunade may not love Jiraiya the way he loves her, but their bond in undeniable. Orochimaru Kage level : stalemated the 3rd Hokage although he was old as heck and killed the 4th Kazekage. So, in the end, he was able to provide Gaara with peace, knowing his mother loved him.

Despite Gaara being only six years old, Yashamaru did as ordered but was defeated by him. This was mostly because Temari had married Shikamaru from Konoha. He developed a method of transferring his soul to a new body in order to stay alive.

His original body might be long gone, but Orochimaru is still alive and well. And as Mitsuki was a lab creation, he has no need for a spouse. He seeks immortality not a partner. That is why Orochimaru wanted revenge from Konoha. Hashirama planned it all. Tobi avows himself as the darkness that crushes Naruto's light and places her under a genjutsu to extract the location of Nagato's body before he kills her. When Tobi finds Nagato's body, he sees Nagato smiling at him, which he interprets as continued betrayal.

He shuts Nagato's eyes before teleporting the body away. Kabuto offers to capture them for him as a sign of good faith. He ultimately fails, but does manage to bring back Yamato , who he can use to strengthen the White Zetsu Army. Tobi finds this a fair alternative. When preparations are complete the thousands of Zetsu and many of Kabuto's reincarnated ninja mobilise, initiating the Fourth Shinobi World War.

Tobi suspects that Kabuto led her to their hideout and believes Kabuto plans to have Akatsuki and the Allied Shinobi Forces destroy each other. Although confident that this will not happen, Tobi orders Kabuto to kill Anko.

Kabuto refuses on the grounds that he can use Anko to make the Impure World Reincarnation stronger, something that is in Tobi's best interests. Tobi remains uneasy about Kabuto and has White Zetsu plant spores on him so that his actions can be monitored. He later learns that Naruto and B have left their confinement and joined the battle.

With things moving towards their conclusion, Tobi goes to the location of the First Division where he summons the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. Darui and Shikamaru Nara conclude that he plans to make use of the brothers' Nine-Tails chakra as part of his plans and try to stop him. He compliments them on guessing his intentions and has the Statue attack them while he escapes with the two items.

Naruto headbutts Tobi as soon as they meet, to which Tobi only responds by pointing out that Naruto couldn't even scratch his mask. Naruto notices his new Rinnegan and remarks that it is the same as the "other" Madara's. Realising that Kabuto has revealed his secret, Tobi quietly curses Kabuto before shedding his Madara-identity, embracing the role of "nobody". In the confusion of their appearance, the Five-Tails breaks free of Tobi's control but he promptly subdues it.

He then forces the Four-Tails and Six-Tails to fully transform in an attempt to stack the odds in his favour. Instead, the Four-Tails manages to communicate to Naruto how Tobi is controlling it. Naruto escapes from its mouth, locates the chakra receiver embedded in the Four-Tails' flesh, and removes it. Despite the overwhelming power of the five tailed beasts, Naruto, working in full cooperation with the Nine-Tails, is able to neutralise all of them and release them from Tobi's influence.

Like the Four-Tails, Tobi seals them back into the Statue. Despite the setbacks, Tobi remains confident that he will emerge victorious.

As this could only mean that Kabuto has failed, Tobi realises that time is running out. Despite their combined efforts they are unable to get past Tobi or damage him. Tobi is even able to turn some of their own attacks against them, such as a lightning -infused kunai that Kakashi is forced to send away with Kamui.

After this latter exchange, however, Kakashi notices that Tobi's mask takes damage. Unable to attribute the damage to any of their attacks, Kakashi tests a theory: Naruto attacks Tobi with a Rasengan , and when it appears to pass through Tobi, Kakashi targets the Rasengan with Kamui. Tobi's arm is then damaged. Kakashi concludes that his Kamui and Tobi's ability share the same dimension ; that attacks sent to the dimension at the same moment that Tobi has transported his body parts there for safety will do damage to Tobi.

Now that they have a strategy to use against Tobi, Naruto, B, Guy, and Kakashi begin to coordinate their efforts. One of Naruto's shadow clones attacks Tobi, but the attack appears to fail and the clone disappears. The real Naruto attacks immediately afterwards with a Tailed Beast Ball , which Tobi avoids by retreating to the other dimension. There he finds Naruto's shadow clone waiting for him, having been sent there by Kakashi's Kamui. Before he has a chance to react he is hit in the face with a Rasengan, shattering his mask.

His face revealed, Kakashi and Guy recognise him as their former team-mate Obito Uchiha. Kakashi is devastated to learn that Obito is not only alive but is now one of the world's worst criminals. Before he can find out how Obito survived, the reincarnated Madara Uchiha arrives at Obito's side.

Seeing the Demonic Statue, Madara chides Obito for reviving the Ten-Tails prematurely and reviving him in the state he is in. Obito informs him of Nagato's betrayal before returning to him his gunbai and directing him to Naruto and B. While Madara goes after them, Obito fights Kakashi. He ignores Kakashi's pleas for an explanation and nearly kills him, stopped only by Naruto. When Kakashi gets over his initial shock and starts to fight seriously, Obito sends him away with Kamui.

This is part of Kakashi's plan, as through a combination of efforts Naruto and Killer B nearly destroy the Demonic Statue. But the attack comes a moment too late, and from the smoke emerges the Ten-Tails. Obito and Madara take position atop the Ten-Tails' head and attach themselves to it so they can control its actions.

Because they no longer need Naruto or B, they direct the Ten-Tails to kill them. The combined Allied Shinobi Forces arrive in time to stop the attack. The Allies collaborate against the Ten-Tails and succeed in restraining it, but the Ten-Tails matures to its next form and releases itself. Though this was countered easily enough, they have the Ten-Tails destroy the Allied Shinobi Forces' Headquarters to prevent future collaborations. Madara remarks that the battle is more difficult than it should be and blames Obito's deviations from the original plan, namely not bringing Madara back to life in the correct way.

Obito replies that he never trusted Madara would keep his word and that he now follows his own version of the Eye of the Moon Plan. Obito uses the beast as a medium to fire off several wooden projectiles into the assembled Alliance. Naruto and the Allies refuse to be broken by their shared loss and instead unite for yet another attack, successfully separating the Ten-Tails from Madara and Obito's control. Madara and Obito join forces against the shinobi army, but now have the unrestrained Ten-Tails to contend with.

Obito intercepts him and together they relocate to the other dimension. With nobody to interrupt them, Kakashi again tries to speak with him, and Obito finally starts to answer some of his questions, explicitly stating Kakashi should feel no guilt for killing Rin so many years ago.

Kakashi tries to explain, but Obito saves him the trouble, saying he already knows the circumstances surrounding Rin's death and that it was Rin's idea to die, which is what led him to despair at the world that forced Rin to kill herself. Kakashi persists that what Obito is doing is wrong, but Obito continues to rebuff him.

In an ensuing fight, he directs the outcome to have Kakashi stab him through the heart with a lightning-infused kunai in order to get rid of the Forbidden Individual Curse Tag Madara placed on him years ago.

Obito gives Kakashi a non-fatal stab in return which causes him to fall to the ground and allows Obito to return to the real world. Badly injured, Obito teleports to the top of the Ten-Tails. Madara senses his return and his weakened state and exerts his control over Obito to try and force him to perform the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique and bring him back to life.

Before the technique can be completed the Allies try to eliminate Obito, including a reincarnated Minato , who is able to teleport to Obito's location using the same Flying Thunder God seal he branded Obito with years earlier. Minato and Obito only recognise each other after Obito has been cut down. Madara admits defeat, but not because Obito is dead: Obito, already beyond Madara's influence, was sealing the Ten-Tails into his body , a process he completed in time. Attacks do not affect him and his Truth-Seeking Balls overcome every defence that is placed against him.

The Allies' only advantage is Obito's lack of control; the Ten-Tails' power physically distorts his body and some inner struggle deprives of any discretion or precision in his actions. Deep within his mind, Obito fights to rein in the Ten-Tails and keep it from tearing him apart. By focusing on a picture of his old team , he is able to subjugate the Ten-Tails' power.

In a blind gamble, Gamakichi uses Starch Syrup Gun against Obito, which is the first attack to not be completely nullified. Naruto realises that, despite all of Obito's new powers, he remains vulnerable to senjutsu. With the moon nearing the optimal position to perform the Infinite Tsukuyomi , Obito begins making final preparations.

He traps the Alliance in a barrier and creates an enormous tree with four flowers, each flower charging a Tailed Beast Ball. The balls are fired at the shinobi forces but Naruto and Minato teleport everyone to safety. After repelling the two's senjutsu-fuelled counterattack, Obito summons the tree form of the Ten-Tails and has it absorb the chakra of nearby ninja, taking their chakra and killing many. Obito uses this rising death toll to shatter the determination of the Shinobi Alliance, offering them mercy if they stop fighting and allow themselves to enter the infinite dream.

Naruto is nearly shattered, but is galvanised by Sasuke's refusal to surrender and he rallies the shinobi forces. Naruto and Sasuke join forces, combining their own senjutsu abilities against him to increasingly greater effect. Obito, who is fighting both the shinobi alliance by controlling the tree and Naruto and Sasuke personally, becomes frustrated with their continued attacks and Naruto's denial of his way of thinking.

Obito forms the Sword of Nunoboko , intending to use it to strike all of them down for good. Naruto and Sasuke realise they will only have a small window to defeat Obito so they enlist the aid of their classmates from Konoha to help them with a combined attack against Obito. They successfully overwhelm Obito and he begins to lose control of the Ten-Tails' chakra, giving the Alliance a chance to pull it from his body. During this time, Naruto enters Obito's consciousness through their linked chakras and begins to reason with him.

Though he tries to resist the pull of both Naruto's words and the Shinobi Alliance's grip on his chakra, the chakra of the nine tailed beasts is removed from him and he falls to the ground, his power and transformation gone and his battle lost. As Obito lies helpless, Kakashi finally returns from Kamui's dimension with the resolve to kill him. Minato stops him and explains it's no longer necessary, as Obito's defeat by Naruto has finally shown him that he was wrong all this time and that deep down, he was living a lie fighting for the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

As the Alliance begins shifting their attention to Madara, who is fighting elsewhere, Obito decides to use the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique to revive everyone he's killed as atonement for his sins. As he is performing the technique, Black Zetsu emerges from underground and forces him to change targets, reviving Madara instead.

Black Zetsu tries to take the Rinnegan Obito is using also, but realises it will not be able to get away from Kakashi and Minato. Obito explains to them what he has been forced to do and pleads with them to destroy his Rinnegan at any cost. While he struggles against Black Zetsu's control, the Demonic Statue is summoned from Obito's body, sapping what little energy he has left and enabling Black Zetsu to overpower him.

Madara tries to convince Obito of the error he is making and lets his guard down while he gives Obito another chance. Obito opts instead to stab Madara, and in the process steals fragments of the One-Tail and Eight-Tails ' chakra, embracing his identity as Obito Uchiha for the first time in years.

Because Obito has all of the pieces that Madara still needs for his plans, his escape becomes paramount. Kakashi uses Kamui on him while he also uses it on himself, allowing him to flee to the other dimension before Madara can stop him. In the other dimension, Obito finds Sakura and Naruto, the former performing emergency life support on the latter because of the removal of the Nine-Tails' Yang -half from his body.

Although she is sceptical of Obito, she allows him to seal the Nine-Tails' Yin-half and the other tailed beasts' chakra he has into Naruto since it's the only chance of saving him. When Naruto recovers, Obito sends him back to the real world to fight. He then asks Sakura to destroy his Rinnegan. Before she can go through with it Madara arrives, having stolen Kakashi's Sharingan so that he could confront Obito. Obito teleports Sakura away so that Madara couldn't kill her.

Because Obito is out of options, Madara gets one last thing off his chest: he orchestrated Rin's death all those years ago in order to gain Obito's cooperation. With that said, Black Zetsu takes control of Obito's body. Naruto creates an opportunity for Obito and Sakura to infiltrate Kaguya's core dimension and then draws her away while they work.

Through a process of trial-and-error — the stress this causes to his body being healed by Sakura — Obito searches through Kaguya's dimensions with Kamui and eventually finds Sasuke. Obito returns Sasuke and Sakura to the dimension where Naruto and Kakashi are.

He watches as Naruto and Sasuke fight Kaguya, their combined powers the only ones capable of stopping her. Aware of this, Kaguya relocates them to a dimension with powerful gravity and pins Naruto and Sasuke down while she attacks with All-Killing Ash Bones.

Hot-Blooded : He was in childhood. Hour of Power : He can only maintain continuous usage of Kamui for five minutes, after which it immediately stops, presumably due to chakra drain or stress on his eye.

Konan tries to take advantage of this with her killer move of continuous explosions for ten minutes, but he uses Izanagi with a spare sacrificial Sharingan to power through the remaining time, with his version proving much more powerful than Danzo's mere minute limit.

Humanoid Abomination : Obito becomes one when he becomes the Jinchuuriki of the Ten Tailed Beast, with the artificial half of his body becoming covered in scales. Until he gets its power under control, he even goes through Body Horror. In a way, he was this ever since taking on the Madara persona. Obito is a man with a terrifying and unqiue phasing jutsu, who's body is half comprised of the cloned and corrupted Cells of Hashirama Senju.

This gives his torso a inhuman pale color pallete and also means that his limbs start to melt away when they take enough damage. He can also store metal rods inside himself and use them for attacks. Fair to say most people who fight hi, start to believe he's not a man.

Humans Are Bastards : Believes that the Crapsack World he lives in inevitably turns all ninja into "trash", himself included. It's part of why he wants to complete an Assimilation Plot. Humiliation Conga : He's gone from the most powerful being in the Narutoverse since the Rikudo Sennin, to a Person Puppet for Black Zetsu after getting mentally kicked in the balls by Naruto, all the Tailed Beasts extracted from him, and when he tries to atone Black Zetsu takes him over and forces him to resurrect Madara.

Not that this will stop Obito in any way. Hyper Space Arsenal : He stores many weapons in his Kamui dimension such as Fuma Shuriken , and a massive chain and stake combo for pinning down and restraining the Tailed Beasts. Hypnotic Eyes : His Sharingan can cast potent genjutsu on his opponent ranging from subtly throwing off their perception of reality to outright mind control.

This allowed him to control Nine-Tails using only one eye and also take control fourth Mizukage being only a teenager. Hypocrisy Nod : He despises being betrayed and considers all traitors worse than trash. He condemns Nagato and Konan for the fact that they betrayed him and also Kakashi for failing to keep his promise.

But he himself planned to betray Nagato and Konan earlier and also betrayed a large number of people before that. However he himself is aware of his hypocrisy and in conversation with Kakashi he recognizes himself the same trash as Kakashi and states that the world in which they live inevitably turns all ninja into trash, even himself, and that this is the reason why he wants to complete an Assimilation Plot.

He makes Minato fight him instead of defending his village, saying this even though he's about to win instantly, amending "And I Can Rule Alone : Madara groomed him with both the training and knowledge necessary to carry out the Moon Eye Plan while intending Obito to revive him using Nagato at a later date so they would complete it together or at least let Madara himself finish the job. Obito, be it from the very beginning or sometime afterwards, decided to kinx that "revive Madara" part from the plan and rule the Infinite Tsukuyomi alone as the Ten Tails Jinchuuriki.

Iconic Sequel Character : Despite being Overarching Villain of the series, and responsible for almost everything that happened in the series , he does not appear in the series until Kakashi Gaiden which takes place after Part 1 although he had an Early-Bird Cameo before that.

I Gave My Word : Obito might be duplicitous and manipulative, but he kept his word to Itachi that he wouldn't attack Konoha as long as he lived. Of course, as soon Itachi dies, he has no problem sending Pain and Konan to attack Konoha. After Kakashi fails to take the shot on Obito, he insists that something of the man he used to be is still within him. Obito insists that he is incorrect. This continues until Kakashi finally comes to the conclusion that his friend as he knew him was in fact dead.

Then comes back up when said conclusion is utterly defied by Naruto. By the time he's done, their corpses are raining blood!

Also did it with Konan by way of steel pipe. He also does this to Madara after reclaiming his identity as "Obito Uchiha" , betraying him and taking back Yin Kurama and a portion of Shukaku's and Gyuki's chakra that Naruto is currently missing. Implacable Man : Losing half of his body at age 13 only slowed him.

So far he has been: struck with a fully powered Rasengan from the Fourth Hokage, poisoned with microscopic insects, set on eternal fire from Itachi, hit by billion bombs from Konan blowing up at his face, pierced in the heart by a Raikiri enhanced kunai from Kakashi , taken over by his Evil Mentor through the plant side and cut from shoulder to waist by the revived Fourth Hokage a second later.

Once he becomes the Ten-Tails' jinchuuriki this gets taken Up to Eleven as he takes a dozen mountain size gate seals from the First Hokage a. And not even the might of the Ten Tails ripping his mind apart gave him pause: he subdued it by clinging to his love of Rin and the desire to recover his former team.

Bonus points for doing it with his own willpower in a few minutes when it usually takes years for Jinchuuriki to work together with their Tailed Beast.

Improbable Age : Obito masterminded the Nine-Tails attack at around 14 and gave the Fourth Hokage the fight of his life.

Not much later on, he was already manipulating world powers and setting up the stage for the world to fall into chaos. The Infiltration : A very odd inversion. He seems to have made up an alias and alternate personality to boot and infiltrated his own organization without any particular reason except fun. The primary weaknesses are that he cannot attack while intangible, he cannot be intangible while teleporting himself or others and the more he tries to teleport the longer it takes , and he can only stay intangible for five minutes at a time.

After becoming the Ten Tails Jinchuuriki, he states that he can no longer use this ability. He can use his eye to travel to an alternate dimension at will. He can even send parts of his body when in danger so he can dodge at the last second, giving the illusion that he is an Intangible Man.

He instinctively teleports the portion of his body that intersects with an attack into an alternate dimension. He can even reach other dimensions, but it costs a ridiculous amount of stamina and chakra to do that. In the Blood : Despite easily being the most decent of all the Uchiha in the series, not even Obito was immune to the clan's most fatal flaw: their ability to love more deeply than anyone else.

If anything, it was worse for him seeing as he was the most idealistic and emotional of all the Uchiha, and thus his sense of love was far deeper than usual. The Heroic Suicide of the love of his life for the sake of her village and what became of his best friend a hero that can only make excuses before graves drove him over the deep end and made him what he is today.

In the Hood : After taking up the identity of "Madara", his early outfits were hooded cloaks. Invincible Villain : Most fights with him in the series consist of him spamming Kamui with reckless abandon. When Konan attempts to exploit this, he uses Izanagi to survive at the cost of his left eye.

When Edo Tensei was canceled and he was not able to capture Naruto and Bee, he still compensates for the missing beasts by using smaller pieces of their chakra that he collected earlier to revive the Ten-Tails. When he is beaten to an inch of his life and Madara betrays him and robs him of his life support, he shows that it was all part of his plan to become the Ten Tails Jinchuuriki.

And even when he is overwhelmed by its power and his psyche is nearly torn to pieces, he subdues it through sheer force of will and becomes a full Physical God. He eventually was defeated but this was mostly only due to his internal conflict. Instant Expert : Immediately after activating the Mangekyo, he uses it and his previously unseen Wood Style perfectly to slaughter a few dozen ninjas. It took him a couple of minutes to go from a mindless berserker to controlling the Ten-Tails' power to the point of leaving a disintegration bomb in the stump of the Fourth Hokage's severed arm.

I Reject Your Reality : Pretty much literally as he said this word-for-word after witnessing Rin's death. He refuses to acknowledge a world in which Rin chose to sacrifice herself and Kakashi was unable to protect her, and chooses to believe the current world is fake. His main goal is to use Infinite Tsukuyomi to replace reality with a dream world where he can pretend all this didn't happen. Irony : His identity.

If Kakashi had abandoned his comrades and completed his mission to destroy the bridge, Obito would have died. As a child, he promised Rin that he would end all wars and bring peace to the world of shinobi. So ironically he ultimately kept his promise to Rin of ending all wars and bringing peace to the world. Despite being an Uchiha and therefore a descendant of Indra, Obito has more in common with the Ashura reincarnations.

His version of the Sage's staff lampshades this, as it is topped with the 'sun' emblem of Ashura's line as opposed to Madara's staff, which had the 'moon' emblem of Indra's line. It Amused Me : The fact that he infiltrated his own organization by pretending to be a harmless fool for seemingly no reason since most of Akatsuki already knew it was fake, which can only lead to the conclusion that he did it for shits and giggles.

Tobi's a notable case in that he was Obito, one of the best of the Uchiha personality wise and, along with Shisui, one of the few who didn't suffer from this. However, Rin's death served as his Despair Event Horizon , and subsequently brought out all the Uchiha traits he used to lack, including this and the talent that Uchiha Clan ninja tend to have.

Now, he claims he's completing his Assimilation Plot in order to create a better world but the truth is that he doesn't care about this world anymore, due to his apparent thought of Crapsack World status, and thinks that everybody will be resurrected and happy in his dream world.

What he most of all wants in the end is to live in his ideal world where Rin and his other teammates are alive but he doesn't care for the remaining living members of his team in this world and refuses to acknowledge Rin's sacrifice because he believes that "this world" forced her to make the sacrifice and that "this world" has turned the remaining members of his team including him into "trash" and instead believes that the only place where all can be good is in his illusory world.

It's Personal : Invoked and Subverted. Rin died at the hands of Kakashi, and Obito, knowing that Kakashi feels guilty about being unable to protect her, invoked this as a way Break Them by Talking "Because you let Rin die" , but at the same time as this was his Start of Darkness , he is well-aware that Kakashi was forced into that situation and later admits that it's not Kakashi's fault that he became what he did, but rather the world's fault. Jerkass Has a Point : When Kakashi and Gai face off against Obito and inquire as to why he fell to darkness , he gives various examples of how the ninja world is corrupt and needing of reformation.

While his ambition of replacing reality with an illusion is self-centered and inherently evil, no one denied the evil that exists in the ninja world, nor the mistakes that Obito's fellow ninja made during the wars in particular. Even Minato apologizes to Obito for his absence during the third Shinobi world war, when his pupils needed his assistance more than ever. Also, Kakashi explains to Obito- after defeating the former in a clash- that he struggled with the same resentful sentiments and cynicism that befell Obito, with the only difference being in the outcome, where he decided to work toward a brighter, "good" solution to the corruption in the ninja world, thanks to being inspired by Naruto's heroism.

Jerk with a Heart of Gold : Kakashi eventually deduced the reason for his frustration in dealing with Naruto. Obito's Will of Fire had never actually burned out, and his actions and unwillingness to acknowledge this were causing him inner turmoil that was tearing him up inside. Obito starts to envision the way his life would have turned out if he had returned to Konoha when Rin died, rejoined his friends as allies, and even going so far as to imagine himself as Hokage , despite not consciously understanding why.

Obito is truly an oddity within his own clan in that he never fully succumbed to his people's Curse of Hatred , a curse that dominates the fate of the Uchiha, their lives and their dooms. Part of him always cherished his Will of Fire , his comrades and his village.

It truly awakens when he turns on Madara, and starts ripping the Ten Tails from his former mentor and also later Black Zetsu reveals that Obito wished and prayed that Naruto would be safe, he would stop Madara and succeed where he failed. Just Between You and Me : He does this at least once: such as when he explains his plan to the Kage because he needs them to know it to be able to make his move. Though it should be noted that he tends not to talk about some important details his plans or very vague therein.

For example even though he said at Five Kage summit that he needs Eight and Nine-Tails to complete his plan, he didn't mention that he only needed a small part of each of the Tailed Beasts to finish his plan. And though he mentioned that he was going to use Mass Hypnosis on the whole world with the help of the moon, he didn't say how exactly he was going to do it. So when he becomes the Ten-Tails Jinchuuriki and releases the World Tree , he uses a large number of shinobi who tried to stop him to feed this tree and activate Infinite Tsukuyomi.

Just Toying with Them : He loves to mess around with people. This is pretty much his entire guise as Tobi, pretending to be a worthless fool, while taking refuge in the fact that he is more or less invulnerable. He literally dances around the eight-man squad in pursuit of Sasuke to stall for time. Even after revealing himself as "Madara", he retains his tendency to joke around and hide certain abilities, all to infuriate others while being untouchable.

Rather than using the Ten Tails to murder everyone outright, he chooses to kill them off gradually just to make them suffer the loss of their comrades and show them how horrible the real world is.

Averted since becoming the Jinchuuriki of the Ten Tails. It took him 4 seconds to rip apart the defenses of the Ninja army and tear through the revived Hokages. Only because the Hokages are immortal zombies, they survived. And then averted again after he manages to control its power and tries to disintegrate Minato, Sasuke and Naruto right away.

He finally releases the Ten Tails's true form and wipes out most of the Shinobi Alliance so he can complete the Eye of the Moon plan. Karmic Nod : When he is dying, Black Zetsu contemptuously says that he will end up Dying Alone , having lost everyone dear to him, being hated by everyone else and failing at his goals. Obito says: Obito : This death suits a criminal like me. Obfuscating Stupidity : He has been using this tactic as Tobi. Odd Name Out : His Kamui technique. While it is derived from Japanese mythology like other Mangekyo abilities, it actually refers to a term used in Anui folklore instead of Shinto.

Oh, Crap! He seems to delight in messing with people's minds in the most funny way possible - just ask Konan. Tobi : I ended up saving you too I believe a "thank you" is in order. Konan Tobi : When my illusion ends, so will your life. But first I'll make you reveal where you hid the Rinnegan. Tobi : There is no peace! There can be no hope! Nagato only believed in Naruto to try to comfort his own pitiful existence!

Tobi : You called me the Darkness, didn't you? Then I will make you wilt. I will take your little rainbow bridge and its seven colors and plunge it all into darkness! Minato : Obito, wasn't your dream to become Hokage? What led you to this!? Tobi : We're way past the point of lectures, wouldn't you agree sensei?

When it came to life-changing events, you were always a step behind. What Tobi doesn't know yet , though, is that Minato was purposefully drawn away so that the Mist ninja —acting on Madara's orders— could kidnap Rin. Tobi : Despite being my master, you failed to recognize your own pupil I can't help but pity you Madara : [while explaining how the world is hell and Obito is an extension of himself and his plan to remake it] Obito Uchiha, with his Uchiha chakra, challenged Kakashi Hatake, sought the title of Hokage, and yearned for Rin Nohara.

Have you forgotten that!? Tobi : [after planting his hand in Madara's gut intending to take back the Ninetails and save Naruto ] Those who truly lead others would never step over their comrades' corpses, even if their own ends up being stepped upon. I won't let you step on me anymore. I know now that letting someone use your name and handle things for you isn't the same as truly entrusting them with a task.

I am not you. The current me is
