I usually leave the Tiber Island hideout from the top exit, and i usually spot a borgia messenger, so i descend to the streets and kill him. I did this twice, both times i got Aconite. So tell me, is Aconite really that much of a pain? Or is it simply finding messengers and chasing them down. Hi and welcome. Hasn't someone already suggested a strategy similar to this? I'm not sure it was for farming aconite but it definitely involved facing away and waiting for a Borgia Messenger to respawn to farm some other item.
Yes, LisaMurphy mentioned it on another topic. She read about it on GameFAQs. I don't know who originally came up with it. I think there have been 2 or 3 different strategies not including yours, Jon. HOWEVER, given that couriers appear to be a bit random, AND they're not easy or convenient say, when you're on a mission or something requiring stealth or having a time limit to chase down and tackle or kill which again has its own inconveniences , AND that apparently the loot you get from them is random or really pseudo-random probably, but I digress rather than rotational i.
Because LOTS of folks, even those who explore a lot and chase down every Borgia courier they see when they're not on a mission, don't get Aconite in a full game. The fix? Either that or a list approach, with Aconite being the 5 or 6th item. I think every player who roams around will spot at least 10 Couriers in a playthrough that they can try to run down; you ought to be able to get the Aconite that way. User Info: ghostlawns. I ended up getting it by taking the tunnel to the Thieves Guild and standing on a roof, there is always a courier that spawns at the entrance to the village and runs up to the roofs above the shops.
After a few tries, I finally got the aconite although I had finished the story quite some time ago and was just cleaning up random side quests. SkunkHunter, the way I described which path I took, do you think I'm definitely looking in the right place?
Ghostlawns' strategy might be better than the one I followed. Your path sounds correct, except that I would modify it I did, as per my post. From there, I'd look straight ahead one spawned RIGHT there, then walk and look left towards the courtyard with the Courtesans - a few spawned in there , then walk, jog no sprinting down the road. One I reached the second bridge with the annoying troubador , I'd turn around and go back the way I came until I reached the hay cart.
After 2 laps or so, quit and try again. That's what worked to the extent I reported, at least for me. Oh, and to more directly answer your question, I don't think your route is as good as the one I used. Several times, I saw the Courier spawn on the first bridge you pass and either run directly AWAY into the other part of town or along the river. I think you'd miss that spawn if you stayed at the end of the street where I think you're talking about.
Then again, perhaps I missed some spawns wandering, so I don't know for sure and I'm not judging. Messenger spawned near the haystack, gave me Aconite! YES -How many calculations couldn't a calculator calculate if a calculator couldn't calculate calculations?
